A Declaration of Ironic Solidarity in the Age of Late Capitalism
They tell you to vote. They tell you your voice matters. They sell you the fantasy of individual power in a system designed to concentrate wealth and control in the hands of the few.
Every four years, you're given the choice between two sides of the same coin. You cast your ballot, believing you're participating in democracy, when in reality you're just selecting which face of capital will smile at you while the machine grinds on.
We are all trapped in the contradictions of late capitalism. We critique consumerism while consuming. We denounce exploitation while wearing clothes made by exploited workers. We mock individualism while expressing our unique personalities through mass-produced goods.
SCHIZO doesn't pretend to be above this. We are the contradiction, embodied. We are the irony made manifest. We sell you propaganda about propaganda.
There is no ethical consumption under capitalism. Every purchase you make feeds the system. Every dollar you spend is a vote for the status quo, no matter how progressive the branding.
But at least we're honest about it. We don't pretend that buying our t-shirts will save the world. We don't claim that our hoodies will dismantle oppressive systems. We're just here to help you dress like you understand the joke.
Real change doesn't come from voting. It doesn't come from consumer choices. It comes from collective action, from solidarity, from workers seizing the means of production.
Until that day comes (and let's be honest, it's not coming anytime soon), we might as well look good while we wait. Wear the contradiction. Embrace the irony. Join the collective of the disillusioned.
"Remember"
Your vote changes nothing.
Your drip changes everything.
No ethical consumption under capitalism.
Solidarity forever (or at least until the next trend).
Signed,
The Collective
